Crafted from a single sheet of copper, these style of vases hail from the state of Michoacán, Mexico and take hours of dedicated craftsmanship to finely and delicately hammer it into shape. This style of craft is unique to Michoacán where there is a large metalsmithing industry from the nearby copper and silver mines. This particular vase is reminiscent of a pumpkin or other vegetable highlighting the organic forms which inspire the art.
