A traditional ancient pottery technique passed down from generations known for its black and red clay pottery.
Their unique smoke fired technique creates a blackened clay which is then burnished with stones to create a smooth and shiny texture.
Fired in clay ovens at a low 700-750 degrees using horse/cow manure and fire wood, the smoke permeates the clay to get its unique and distinct black hue.
All hand formed, not thrown or coiled.

These traditional artisans create utilitarian objects which are are all meant to be used and cooked with. Whether on the stove or in the oven, they encourage avoiding using it purely as decoration.
